Why I am Running
I’m running to represent the 3rd district of Ohio because I have been on the sidelines watching friends and family experience continued economic disparity, rampant injustices, corporate bullying, and a lack of leadership. I have felt the disrespect to our people and nation and I can’t do it any longer.
We are facing an economic crisis caused by corporate financial bullying. A housing crisis that is fueling childhood poverty that our government has watched increase with little response. And increasing inequalities of every kind, that are causing Americans to feel hopeless, helpless and angry. People aren’t being supported by the government, and are not being given an opportunity to the American Dream, they feel forgotten and it is unacceptable.
I’m on a mission to elevate our lower income families, to catalyze and save our economy, and stop the middle class from disappearing under the poverty line. By empowering our youth, supporting our families, and addressing our education system, we can improve the dignity, livelihood and quality of life of hardworking Ohioans.
My daughters inspire me daily. Everyday when I wake up, I look at two of my daughters’ shirts hanging up by my closet. One says, ‘Strong Unstoppable’, the other says, ‘It’s race day y’all!’ A yellow yarn braided pinned onto it, to symbolize the strength of our family. When I see those shirts every morning, I’m reminded why I rise up. Why I work so hard. Why I fight. I rise up not only for my children, but for the children in my community. I rise up for families, and for those less fortunate. For the most vulnerable of our society who continue to suffer. I believe we can together rise up for unity, economic growth and responsibility, and the integrity, dignity and voices of ALL Ohioans. We can rise up together for justice, equality, and to be BOLD for a brighter tomorrow.
I believe in taking care of our people. I would be honored to serve and walk alongside you, navigating these challenging times. I care and I’m here to help and listen. Our fight continues until all of our people are heard, protected, respected and empowered. We are not alone, if we are together.
