Environmental/Energy Justice
Every month in the news we see new weather disasters that are breaking historical records and leaving behind more damage, destroying homes, farmland and injuring people. In Central Ohio just last month we had record breaking tornados touch down, not only in the city, but in February! We are past the point of this being a partisan issue, this effects everyone and ultimately surrounds the fragility of our already barely surviving economy. We must take this seriously and address it now.
If we stop carbon emissions we can stop rising sea levels that are causing frequent natural disasters and devasting weather pattern changes to our forests and farmland. This helps our economy in many ways. One significant way is by protecting our largest exports, the biggest sources of money coming into our government, crops. By protecting this large U.S. asset we can better insure we have the funds to bolster our education, healthcare and housing systems and take care of our people, without relying on foreign loans.
